“Once Upon a Time” Season 6 is left with only one episode and fans are still waiting for ABC to renew the show for the seventh season. As the coming May, 14 marks the television series finale, its future remains uncertain as everyone behind the fairy tale program keeps things under wraps.

It has been known that the “OUAT” will give a proper send-off and a complete ending in case the show is not bound to return. At the same time, it will also open a new story if ever it will come back for “Once Upon a Time” Season 7.

A new story to tell

ABC is expected to announce the renewal or cancellation of “Once Upon a Time” Season 7 next week, in time for the current season’s final episode.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the show’s creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis promise that fans will receive a proper ending that won’t leave any kind of cliffhangers that will lead to a lot of questions.

Here, their every question will be answered and this even includes the much-awaited Final Battle of Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison). Kitsis explained that fans wouldn't experience any dangling threads as they are not going to feature a mind-blowing finale that will make the viewers question its meaning.

However, although no one confirmed that a new season is coming, they are now preparing how they will introduce the next installment. They said that a new chapter is about to be introduced.

Kitsis added that they feel like they have perfectly completed the season six’s story and the new chapter of “OUAT” will feature a total change.

Hence, the final episode of “Once Upon a Time” Season 6 will conclude to open a new and different story that will be very unfamiliar to its viewers. Horowitz, on the other hand, said that they have been telling the story of fairy tale’s characters for six years now and they are all doing their best to complete the tale.

But, this doesn’t mean that they don’t have any other narratives to tell. "We move forward in a way that, at the end of it, hopefully, you’ll see what we’re hoping to do in Season 7,” he added.

New characters coming

Meanwhile, although the renewal is not yet announced, Kitsis revealed that “Once Upon a Time” Season 7 will have a combination of new and old characters.

This includes “The Walking Dead” star Andrew J. West and Alison Fernandez from “Jane the Virgin.” They will be seen in the current season’s final episode, but their respective roles are not yet revealed. And as the season finale is about to come, the show’s executive producers are now expecting a mix reaction from their fans.
