Katy Perry joined James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” for the “Late Late Show Primetime Special” on Monday. The 32-year-old star talked about her new single “Swish Swish” that is said to be about her alleged feud with Taylor Swift.
The “Roar” hitmaker holds nothing back and opened up about the assumed misunderstanding she and the 27-year-old pop giant have. And although the two never really mention each other’s names, a lot knew they actually have “Bad Blood.”
‘Swish Swish’ vs ‘Bad Blood’
Perry’s “Swish Swish” is said to be her answer to Swift’s “Bad Blood,” which is assumed to be about the initial.
The song has a lyrics saying, "Keep calm, honey. I'ma stick around for more than a minute. Get used to it." However, she has yet to confirm if the song is indeed for Tom Hiddleston’s former partner.
"There's a situation," Orlando Bloom’s ex-girlfriend told Corden. She strongly believed that the “Shake it Off” singer is the one who started the feud and this is the best time for her to finish it. To recall, the two have been engaging in a public dispute for quite a while now, although they are not calling each other’s names and still following each other on social media.
Perry talks about feud with Swift
The “Dark Horse” hitmaker confessed that she tried to talk to Swift about their issue, but she doesn’t want to talk to her.
Corden, on the other hand, confirmed that there was a phone call that did happen between the two.
She, then, added that she always did the right thing anytime she feels that something is not right. "It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me,” Katy said. Hence, she keeps her composure and understands that this might be the way Calvin Harris’ ex-partner wants to deal with their problem.
“Karma!" she said. However, she insisted that she just wants to get that “BS” to be done."Now, there is the law of cause and effect,” she continued. She explained that if someone does something, there is going to be a reaction and karma is about to happen.
Personally, Perry thinks that women should stand together and not be divided for whatever season.
She even added that none of their small issues should happen because women who are working in harmony can actually help to heal the world.
Meanwhile, Perry is very much willing to “take the beef off the grill” if she will receive a text from Taylor saying the same phrase. And to get back to the real essence of the show, and to put a stop to the ongoing feud. Corden then played her number one hit, “Roar.”
