Actor Roger Moore has died at the age 89. The James Bond actor's passed away Tuesday morning in Switzerland following a brief Battle With Cancer according to his family. Moore's family posted the sad news this morning on Twitter revealing heir sadness and devastation at his passing.

Appearing in seven of the popular James Bond spy flicks the 007's passing has taken quite a toll on fans and friends. Upon hearing the sad and tragic news celebrities began immediately tweeting their personal reactions to the actor's death.

During his life, Sir Moore was married four times, divorced three to previous wives, Doorn Van Steyn, Dorothy Squires, Luisa Mattioli. He is survived by his fourth wife and "Bond Girl" Kristina Tholstrup and three children, Deborah, Geoffrey, and Christian. The family reveals there will be a private family funeral held in Monaco.

Along with a successful film career as the world's favorite spy James Bond, Roger Moore also has quite an extensive classic television career appearing on television hits including, "Ivanhoe," (1958–1959) "The Alaskans," (1959–1960) and alongside of James Garner in the popular western "Maverick" as his cousin Beau Maverick from (1960–1961).

Moore also starred in the hit series "The Saint" as Simon Templar from 1962-1969. He began his James Bond film career run in 1973 with "Live and Let Die," continuing with the movie franchise until 1985 with "A View to a Kill."

In 2004, Moore was voted 'Best Bond' in an Academy Awards poll, and he won with 62% of votes in another poll in 2008.

In 1987 he hosted Happy Anniversary 007: 25 Years of James Bond. Roger Moore suffered many health battles over the years including prostate cancer, Type 2 Diabetes, and heart issues before succumbing to cancer on May 23, 2017.

Besides being a very well respected actor, Moore also had a huge, kind and giving heart spending his free time doing humanitarian work for which he was named a UNICEF goodwill ambassador in 1991.

He was also greatly involved with Peta.Roger also penned three memoir books throughout his life and career.

The first book about the filming of "Live and Let Die", based on his diaries. Roger Moore as James Bond: Roger Moore's Own Account of Filming Live and Let Die. It was followed with "My Word is My Bond" in 2008, and last but not least, in 2012, "Bond on Bond" which corresponded with the 50th Anniversary of the James Bond films.
