Wondering if the popular show "scandal" will be on TV tonight? There are plenty of lingering questions left to be answered from the last cliffhanger episode. The latest season has had all sorts of twists and turns in the latest plot. Now fans will be looking to watch the next part of the series on the ABC network. Here's the latest on when the hit show "Scandal" will be back on television for viewers to enjoy.
Is the show on tonight?
"Scandal" had its season finale just last week. That means that on Thursday, May 25, 2017, the Shonda Rhimes series will not be shown on ABC during the time slot.
The shows "Grey's Anatomy," "How to Get Away With Murder," and "The Catch" will not be on either.
Instead, ABC will be showing its various sitcoms and half hour comedy shows including "The Goldbergs," "Modern Family" and "Blackish." The "Scandal" season finale was shown just last week so fans will have to wait until the new season starts.
The latest season, the sixth, started up back in January of this year and had a total of 16 episodes. The last one, "Transfer of Power," aired on ABC just last Thursday.
That was the final episode of the season, though. It featured Mellie getting officially sworn in and Olivia working to figure out who the traitor is on the dais. Will the Gladiators be able to get to them in time before they unleash any evil plans?
The past season saw Jessalyn Gilsig ("Glee") added to the cast as a replacement for actress Joelle Carter as the Vanessa Moss character. In addition, actress Portia de Rossi left the show this past season, as her character was killed off in the eleventh episode called "Trojan Horse." Also, Zoe Perry, the daughter of series cast member Jeff Perry, debuted during the sixth season.
When will it be back?
The good news is that there will be a seventh season for "Scandal." The hit television show was renewed for another season, but that will be the last one. That means fans will get to savor more action and drama involving Olivia and the Gladiators as they look to uncover the truth.
"Scandal" typically airs at 9 p.m.
ET on Thursday nights on ABC. It stars Kerry Washington as the lead character Olivia. Other actors on the show include Scott Foley as Jacob "Jake" Ballard, Jeff Perry as Cyrus Beene and Katie Lowes as Quinn Perkins.
The Christian Post reports that "Scandal" season 7 will air sometime this fall. Season 6 had its premiere episode back in January, while Season 5 premiered back in September of 2015. So based on the previous premier date, the new season's first episode could be on Thursday, September 21, or Thursday, September, 28. Stay tuned Gladiators!
