Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck promised to keep their separation a private matter despite their status in the entertainment industry. But after learning about a "cover story" that talks about Garner's sentiments about her divorce, the "Alias" actress had to speak out and clarify certain points from the article.
'Life after Heartbreak'
Garner's story was published for the weekly release of People Magazine.
In the said edition, a source affiliated with the actress reportedly graced the interview and updated the publication of how the female celebrity is coping up after she filed to divorce her husband in April.
The "Elektra" star allegedly consider the separation the "most difficult decision" to make, but acknowledged that she needs to move forward for her kids Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. An insider said Garner is "doing okay" after putting an end to her "troubled" marriage with Affleck.
Following their mutual decision to divorce, the "Live by Night" actor moved out of their family house and transferred to a new flat near his kids.
Despite the unfortunate turn of events in the marriage, Garner and Affleck promised the co-parent their children and to maintain a good relationship with them.
In fact, the two would regularly attend Sunday service with their three kids even after they filed the divorce papers. When asked if the actress is ready to date again, the insider claimed it will take some time before Garner will start going out after losing "the love of her life."
'This isn't a tragedy'
After learning about her supposed cover story, Garner took to her social media account to deny that she allowed People Magazine to publish her story. The actress also emphasized that she "did not" pose for the cover page, nor participate in the said article.
The 45-year-old actress admitted that her separation with Affleck has affected her and the whole family, but refused to consider it a "tragedy" that has its aftermath. Garner ended her post stating that her children alone can make her life complete.
What went wrong between Ben and Jen?
The estranged couple first met on the set of 2001 film "Pearl Harbor" where Affleck took the lead role, while Garner played a supporting character. Their romance bloomed in "Daredevil," but stayed with their respective partners then. In 2003, the actress divorced her then-husband Scott Foley after their three-year marriage. The "Daredevil" couple made their relationship public shortly after Jennifer Lopez called off her engagement with Affleck in 2004.
Garner and Affleck's marriage started the fall apart after the latter was rumored to have cheated on his wife. Although the two tried to save their decade-long relationship, the two eventually decided to put an end to their romance after a long haul.
