Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald made their courtship public in 2013, and a year after their engagement followed. On November 1, 2014, the "Counting On" star married Ben, and a later over a year after, she gave birth to their eldest child. The couple now has two kids.
Fans of "Counting On" and "19 Kids and Counting" know that The Duggars are very conservative, and it is always an interesting story when one of the kids announce that they have entered courtship, or has gotten married. Viewers are curious about what it's like to be in a relationship with someone in a family like the Duggars.
Jessa recently penned a sweet letter to her husband, which gives details of their relationship from the time she first met him up to the moment that they got married.
'Happy Birthday Ben!'
The letter is for Ben's birthday, and it can be read on the Seewald Family blog. The 24-year-old reality star started her letter with how she felt when she first laid eyes on him. She said that she met him at the church where Ben was the new guy. Their first meeting was awkward, and Jessa Duggar admitted that she had no clue that they would meet again.
Three weeks later, though, they met at the church again, and Ben was invited to the Duggars' house by Jessa's brothers. After that, Ben would trek for over three hours from Hot Springs to NW Arkansas, and Jessa thought that because Ben was thinking about transferring to the University of Arkansas, that would be the end of their friendship.
Also, she thought that their two-and-a-half-year age gap would be an issue, however, their constant communication made Jessa fall for Ben.
First date, to engagement, to marriage
But the "Counting On" star was not alone with her feelings because Ben had started to fall in love with her, too. Their first date, Jessa described, was like a dream.
After almost a year after, they were engaged, and it happened in the most romantic way. It happened during sunset. They were in a glass chapel with red rose petals and candles lined up the aisle. Ben went down on one knee and asked for Jessa's hand.
They had a big wedding, with almost 1,000 people in attendance to witness Jessa and Ben say their vows.
The letter, many agree, is probably the best birthday gift anyone could ask for. The couple are still madly in love with each other. Jessa Duggar Seewald concluded the letter by saying that Ben has influenced her life in many ways, and has helped her become a well-rounded person. The fifth Duggar child said that she has "married up." "Counting On" is set to return next month.
