Carrie Ann Inaba has cleared the air with Simone Biles after the judges’ drama that occurred on last week’s live episode of “Dancing With the Stars.” Inaba paid a visit to Biles and her pro partner, Sasha Farber, ahead of this week’s Judges’ Challenge dances, and Entertainment Tonight posted a clip of the exchange.

The longtime “Dancing With the Stars” judge chose a jive for Simone and Sasha to perform during next week’s competition, but first she addressed the elephant in the room, which was the Olympic gymnast’s clap back to host Tom Bergeron, who called her out for not smiling when the judges complimented her last week.

“Smiling doesn’t win you gold medals,” Biles fired back to the stunned host and judges Inaba, Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, and Bruno Tonioli.

Why was Simone Biles so upset?

Simone’s comment came after the judges criticized her for not showing enough emotion in her performances on the ABC celebrity ballroom competition. Carrie Ann even told the Olympic champ that she doesn’t feel like she knows her and that she sometimes comes off as “perfect” and hides behind a “signature smile.” Julianne Hough told Simone she doesn’t know if “the smile is authentic.”

Biles explained that she has spent the past 14 years in a gym working on her sport, so showing her emotions isn’t something she has had to worry about.

While some of the “DWTS” judges wondered if Simone sometimes hides behind a fake smile, Bergeron’s question as to why she wasn’t smiling clearly set her off.

What was the 'DWTS' judge's reaction to the comment?

Inaba started her meeting off with Biles and Farber by telling the young gymnast she wanted to “clear the air.” The reality TV judge then told Biles she “loved” her comment to the judges.

Carrie Ann said the comment didn’t bother her at all. “In fact, I loved it, because it was very honest of you,” she said. Carrie Ann praised Simone for telling the judges what she really thought after a frustrating live show.

Simone went on to admit that she doesn’t show emotion in public, recalling that the last time she did was when she got a bronze medal instead of a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

It will be interesting to see if Simone Biles shows more emotion this week when she performs two dances with Sasha in the “Dancing With the stars” semi-final round.
