It was the eighth week of "Dancing with the Stars" with only five couples remaining on Monday, May 8. Each couple had to perform two dances. At the end of the night, surprisingly Rashad Jennings with partner Emma Slater were in the bottom two along with Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess. However, Bonner and Sharna were the ones eliminated.
Head judge
It was noticeable that head judge Len Goodman was extremely picky with four of the five remaining couples. It is funny that the one he should have been picky about he didn't offer any derogatory or smart remarks at all.
He was extremely hard on Rashad Jennings, Simone Biles, Nomani Kordei and Bonner Bolten but not on David Ross.
Rashad Jennings
The ought Len has against Rashad is the way he is using his feet. Granted, the other judges warned him about the way he is pointing his toes, but Len appeared to have been so angry when he commented about them. During both of Rashad's dances, Len said the same thing.
Normani Kordei
The singer danced a contemporary dance with Val Chmerkovskiy in which she told the story about being bullied and then set free. She received a perfect score. However, it was her second dance that Goodman criticized.
Len chastised Normani for dancing on top of the judges' desk. Her partner Val said Len had the best seat in the house, but Len didn't like Normani shaking her butt in front of his face.
As a joke, host Tom Bergeron stood on the desk and gyrated right in front of Len.
Simone Biles
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba has cautioned Simone about smiling so much instead of showing her emotions. Inaba once asked the Olympian gymnast if she was wearing a practiced smile. Julianne Hough questioned if Simone's smile was authentic and she told her she wants to see rawness come out.
Len also chimed in and said Simone needs to lift up her game.
Simone has gotten high scores during the season, but she has never gotten a perfect score. It is not because of her dancing. Carrie Ann said she don't know Simone because she doesn't show her emotions.
Partner Sasha Farber said he knows what the judges say hurt his partner's feelings because she works so hard.
Later when Bergeron questioned her about her smile, she remarked, "Smiling doesn't win you gold medals."
Bonner Bolten
The worst remark Goodman made during the night's episode was what he told Bonner. He said Bonner was too stiff and he should have been voted off the show before. Len might have forgotten that the bull rider broke his neck last year and was once paralyzed from his neck down. He had a plate in his body that hinders his range of motion.
Also, Goodman remarked that he is 63 years old, and Bonner's dance was too raunchy for him. Bonner doesn't have to listen to Len's remarks any longer because he and Sharna were eliminated last night.
