Nick Carter is best known for his time with the boy band Backstreet Boys. The 37-year-old tweeted this afternoon to his 627,000 followers about his heartbreak over his father's death. Carter asked for privacy while he and his family begin the grieving process and figure out what caused their father's death.
Nick's younger brother, Aaron Carter, also took to Twitter to share the news of his dad's death. Aaron shared a couple of photos with his dad and tweeted that his heart is shattered. He also tweeted a thank you to all of those who are offering their support and condolences. The 29-year-old's last tweet, which has been liked and retweet a number of times, simply stated, "Signing off..."
Brotherly love
Nick and Aaron Carter are no strangers to the spotlight. Both have their music careers, and Aaron has also made a few television and film appearances. The two appeared in their own reality show on the E! network titled "House of Carters." The show, which aired in late 2006, followed the brothers and their three other siblings as they lived their lives in Los Angeles.
Their father Bob Carter appeared in the reality show as well. Unfortunately "House of Carters" wasn't a big hit with the viewers, and after only eight episodes, it was not renewed for a second season.
The Backstreet Boys are currently in the middle of a residency at The Axis at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Their time at The Axis is scheduled for March 1 - July 1.
The residency is titled "Larger than Life," and all of the original band members, who have been together for 24 years, are taking part in it. There is no word yet whether or not Nick Carter will take any time off.
On April 24, Nick was a guest judge on "Dancing with the Stars." He was the first guest judge on season 24. In 2015, Nick was a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars" and was partnered with professional dancer Sharna Burgess.
The pair finished in second place, losing to Bindi Irwin and her professional partner, Derek Hough.
More details on Bob Carter's death will be coming in the following days, as well as the funeral arrangements that the family is making.
