According to Us Weekly on Friday, April 21, "Dancing with the Stars" will have a special guest judge on Monday, April 24. In the ballroom to judge the eight remaining couples will be Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. Carter knows the drill because he competed on the show during Season 21 in 2015 with partner Sharna Burgess. They came in second place behind winners Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough. Burgess is partnered this season with Bonner Bolton. That means Nick will judge his former partner.
Carter is definitely qualified to judge the dancers this week because the contestants will dance to songs made famous by girl groups and boy bands.
The 37-year-old musician just celebrated 24 years with his boy band, the Backstreet Boys. He and his group are currently performing during their Las Vegas residency.
Individual dances
Simone Biles and Sasha Farber will hit the dance floor with a samba Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess will try to get a high score for dancing a rumba to a song by the Backstreet Boys. Carter should have a good time judging this for two reasons. It's one of his songs, and it will be danced by his former partner.
Professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy has been out for a few weeks because of a calf injury but will return to dance a rumba with partner Heather Morris. During Maks' absence, Alan Bersten danced with Heather to help keep her high on the leaderboard.
A tango will be performed by Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater. Nancy Kerrigan and Artem Chigvintsev will dance the paso doble. Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy will dance a salsa. An Argentine tango will be danced by David Ross and Lindsay Arnold. Finally, Nick Viall and Peta Murgatroyd will do a jive.
Team dances
Couples will divide into two teams and compete against each other.
Everybody in the group will get the same score. So surely they will try to do their best. The Team Girl Group will consist of all girls who are left. They include Normani Kordei, Simone Biles, Nancy Kerrigan, and Heather Morris. The Team Boy Band team will include all the boys who are left. They include Bonner Bolton, Rashad Jennings, David Ross and Nick Viall.
