"The Case For Christ" is a movie that opened in theaters on Friday, April 7, 2017. It is a based on Lee Strobel's 1998 book by the same name that tells about Strobel's life as an atheist and the steps he took to make a case for Christ's resurrection from the dead. Strobel was an investigative reporter, and he used his methods to research and present his case for Christ. He proved his case, and he was converted from being an atheist to living a transformed life by believing in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The movie

Actor Mike Vogel plays the leading role of Lee Strobel in the movie.

Erika Christensen plays Strobel's wife, Leslie, who was instrumental in helping Lee find Christ. The couple had a happy marriage until Lee's wife fell in love with another man -- Jesus Christ. Lee wanted to divorce Leslie because he had been an atheist all his life, and he didn't want things to change. Therefore, Lee decided to prove to his wife once and for all that Christ didn't exist so they could get back to the way they used to live.

Since Lee was a Chicago journalist, he decided to use his investigative skills to prove his case. He began his research with one goal in mind. That was to present the evidence to his wife so she would forget about her belief that Christ was resurrected and he still lives.

Strobel interviewed biblical scholars and got medical opinions about what Christians believe about Christ's death on the cross and his resurrection.

"The Case for Christ" is a transformational movie that clearly shows a two-dimensional love story. While Leslie loves her husband, she also loves Christ. Lee thought he was in in competition with Christ and went on an agressive search to prove it was foolish for his wife to believe in Christ.

No spoiler here, but Lee's case proved that his wife could love both of them.

Interview with the Strobels

Much of what is in the book also shows up in the movie. Lee Strobel and his wife, Leslie, were interviewed on the "700 Club" on Friday, April 7. Leslie indicated that she was inspired by the movie because even though she knew the true story, seeing it on the big screen gave her the reasurrance that others would believe "The Case for Christ."

The movie opened in theaters in time for Easter on Sunday, April 16.

That's when Christians all over the world will celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The movie will give people a chance to see Lee Strobel's story and the steps he took to prove that Christ died on the cross, was buried, and God raised him from the dead on the third day, according to the Bible.
