The planet of Mustafar has been in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, ” and there are strong assumptions that it will again appear in the next “Star Wars” movie. Hence, fans might return to the world of Darth Vader in the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi” before the trilogy gets completed.

To recall, the said planet is where Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) have fought in “Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith.” Here, he got his limbs cut off and got burned by its flowing lava. From there, Vader built his own castle, and Peter revealed that this wouldn't be the last time fans are going to see this place.

The history of Darth Vader’s planet

It looks like the Lucasfilm VP and Executive Creative Director Doug Chiang even agrees to this claim as he talked about Mustafar in a recent interview with Uproxx. He tackled the planet’s history along and hinted that viewers are about to see its return in “Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi.”

Chiang admitted that they did a lot of history exploration about Vader’s castle, from its looks, location, and the reason he built it. From here, they learned that the powerful Sith Lord created this place to “meditate, to rejuvenate, and to connect to himself.” Hence, this became his spiritual haven that has been “centered on his bacta tank.”

“And that’s where the form language all built around there,” Chiang said.

“And we’ve done quite a bit of exploration of what’s on the inside of it as well, and hopefully that’ll be seen in some other film.”

Kylo Ren’s possible connection to the planet

Planet Mustafar can be linked to other “Star Wars” movies through Kylo Ren. It has been known that he is quite obsessed with his grandfather, Vader, and displayed the desire for collecting rare items related to the former Jedi Knight.

With that, Slash Film predicted that after Kylo lost his battle with Rey in the finale of “Star Wars: Episode 7 – The Force Awakens,” he will visit Mustafar in “Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi.” Here, the Force warrior will search the entire castle that will help him to be on the dark side even more. There are assumptions that the planet generates a different kind of power for the ones who want to be on the dark side. Thus he might opt to be here to help himself.
