Erin Moran, the beloved star of "Happy Days," has died at the age of 56. The actress was found unresponsive in Indiana on Saturday afternoon. It is believed that she was already dead before first responders arrived. It was then confirmed that the female was indeed the childhood star who delighted TV viewers on one of the most favorite shows ever.

The only thing known at this point is that Moran is gone. There is no word yet on how she died or what the circumstances surrounding her death is. 911 was called after someone had apparently found her.

An autopsy is pending to determine the cause of death.

Erin Moran's life

The "Happy Days" actress was hired in 1974 to play the role of Joanie Cunningham on the long-running sitcom. Later in 1982, she continued with her character in "Joanie Loves Chachi" being paired with Scott Baio. Even though she rose to fame rather quickly as most child stars do, her life after the highly-popular show was not as pretty. Erin Moran had many struggles, including financial issues.

She supposedly had been living in a trailer in Indiana with her husband, Steve Fleischmann. It has not been determined yet if he is the one who called for help. More details will eventually emerge soon.

Sadness is spreading

Many condolences are coming through on social media as the sad news of Erin's passing is spreading.

Her "Happy Days" co-stars have started posted as soon as they heard. Henry Winkler, who played Fonzie on the show, expressed his sadness saying, "OH Erin... now you will finally have the peace you wanted so badly here on earth."

Moran's TV brother, Ron Howard, expressed how he felt about it as well. He mentioned how he would remember how she lit up TV screens and her humor.

Other childhood actors who grew up with Erin Moran took to Twitter to share their sadness and memories of her. Erin Murphy, Tabitha on "Bewitched" and Willie Aames of "Eight is Enough" fame were all popular during the 70's and were considered friends with Moran.
