For months, the Internet has been buzzing with so many theories and predictions about the latest action character that will be added to “Deadpool 2.” It started with Dolph Lundgren, Russel Crowe, and even Pierce Brosnan and Brad Pitt! The coveted role theorized by fans is now officially assigned to Josh Brolin.
It has been a tough challenge for the production team in choosing the right actor for the role. Aside from the actors mentioned, “Stranger Things” star David Harbor and “Man of Steel’s” Michael Shannon were even on the list. The surprise contender, Brolin finally has the role.
This will be his second Marvel Comics character. He first played the role of the antagonist Thanos in Marvel Studios movies. According to several sources, the actor is tapped for four movies with the studio.
The sequel
Ryan Reynolds will reprise the role of the mercenary with a mouth along with Zazie Beetz ("Atlanta") as Domino. The production will start in June in Vancouver with David Leitch directing the sequel. The story of “Deadpool 2” is anticipated to expand and more characters from Marvel’s X-Men Universe will be included.
Cable
The character, created by “Deadpool” creator Rob Liefeld and writer Louise Simonson, is described as the opposite of the movie’s protagonist. Cable is a leader and is very controlled.
He is used to being obeyed; however, he has an aura that exudes rumbling violence.
The actor
Josh Brolin will also be seen in the highly anticipated movie, “Avengers: Infinity War,” which is expected in 2018. He was Mad Titan Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The actor also starred in 2010’s “Jonah Hex.”
In addition, Brolin has a full schedule ahead of him.
On September 22, he will lead Joseph Kosinski’s firefighting adventure titled “Granite Mountain.” He will also star with Benicio Del Torro in the sequel of "Sicario,” titled “Soldado.” Moreover, he will be seen in George Clooney’s “Suburbicon” set to release on November 3. On December 25, the actor will star in the drama, “The Legacy of the Whitetail Deer Hunter.”
The unexpected success of “Deadpool” paved the way for the sequel. Fans are hoping that the next film will be greater than the previous.
