Many fans will be looking for the dates that shows are coming to an end. This is usually between April and June, although the majority are in May of each year. This is the case for the CW, which has now announced its Season Finale dates for all the shows currently airing on the network. However, decisions about the futures of some shows are still in question.
‘Riverdale’ will start the wrap
The newest show on the network will be the first to wrap its season. “Riverdale” will end on May 11, 2017. This show, based on the Archie comics, has done relatively well—good enough to get an early renewal notice for Season 2.
The following week will see “Supernatural” season 12 wrap. This is an earlier week than expected, meaning that the show will only have 22 episodes this season. It’s not likely that this is anything to worry about and may have been an executive decision by the showrunners rather than the network. It is also possible that this will be a two-hour season finale, although that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Arrowverse wraps the following week
It will be during the fourth week of May that fans will really want to tune in to the CW. The Arrowverse wraps completely between the Monday and the Wednesday. That means “Supergirl,” “The Flash,” and “Arrow” will all air their season finales. “Legends of Tomorrow” season 2 has already wrapped for the season.
This is the week that will also see “Jane the Virgin” and “The 100” wrap. All of these shows have been confirmed for another season, with most of them confirmed in January 2017.
Finishing off with ‘Reign’ and ‘iZombie’
There will still be a small number of shows continuing into June. These are all those that had a midseason start date, which means that they haven’t had as long to air yet.
Their dates are staggered throughout June.
“Reign” season 4 will kick off the CW endings in June with the series finale. That’s right; fans get to see how Mary, Queen of Scots’ story ends on June 16. That will be followed the next week with “The Originals” season 4 finale on June 23. Finally, “iZombie” wraps up the CW shows with its June 27 end.
Eight days for Netflix
For those who are behind and waiting for the shows to be on Netflix, the ending dates give us some excellent news. It means we now know when all the shows will be on Netflix, due to the previous agreement between the streaming service and the CW. All shows will come to Netflix eight days after the season finales.
