For those of you who watch just about every television show out there, there is a new one just for you. That is, if you haven't already started it! Netflix's 'Thirteen Reasons Why' has a lot of buzz going on right now and viewers are absolutely loving it.

'Thirteen Reasons Why' is based on a 2007 novel by Jay Asher and now has become a Television Series available on Netflix and produced by Brian Yorkey. The show, thus far, is only one season long containing 13 episodes (hence the shows title).

'Thirteen Reasons Why' is about a new teenage girl who commits suicide in high school.

The main character, Katherine Langford, who acts as Hannah Baker, is the girl who commits suicide. The television show unfolds as Hannah leaves behind a cassette tape explaining the bullying she went through and what led up to her suicide. Each episode is dedicated to a different event in which she was mistreated and bullied by a specific character in the show. Each episode is dedicated to a specific person in the show and Hannah makes an arrangement to have the tapes delivered to each person spoken about in the story.

The show depicts everyday drama and catty acts that occur in just about every high school and throughout the teenage years. It is a show that is relatable to just about every individual who went through the maturation stages.

Selena Gomez's new tat for the show

Selena Gomez, an executive producer of the show, has created a lot of buzz and promotion of the show. Just yesterday, Selena Gomez posted a very meaningful picture of a new tattoo she got in honor of her new Netflix television series. It is a tiny tattoo of a small semi-colon on her left wrist that she got with the show's co stars, Alisha Boe and Tommy Dorfman.

The tattoo is meant to symbolize mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Below is a tweet of Selena getting tattooed with her fellow co-workers.

'Thirteen Reasons Why' is a Netflix series that everyone should watch.

It is relatable to all ages and a show that is profoundly touching. It raises awareness of the following topics: bullying, rape, stalking, drunk driving, alcohol addiction and suicide just to name a few. Youth suicide is a topic that should not be taken lightly and is extremely prevalent in society today. This is a television show that every parent should watch with their teenage kids to enlighten them about such topics addressed above, teach and prevent.

As of now, it is unclear if '13 Reasons Why' will be picked up for season two... I guess we will just have to wait and see.
