We brought you the news of a "Teen Mom" franchise cruise for fans in November 2016. The trip was set for July 2017 and was a five day excursion where fans could actually interact with the moms on Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas. The idea behind the trip was to give fans a chance to sit by the pool and sip a drink while getting to know one of the girls. The appearances of the "Teen Mom' stars wasn't going to include a stage where they entered and exited. It was really about spending time face to face and interacting/participating in the events of the cruise as well as the excursions.
Who had a change of plans?
It was announced by Ashley Reality Roundup that the trip has been called off. The company that was handling the details of the trip, Vacations By Design, has only said that one of the "Teen Mom" stars that was scheduled to attend is no longer able to go.
The three ladies that had originally signed on were Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout and Kail Lowry. Well, if you have been watching the media swirl around Kail you know that she is pregnant with her third child. The timing of the cruise would be too far into her pregnancy to travel so it is a safe assumption that she is the one the company representative was referring to.
The first question to come to mind is why didn't they just get another "Teen Mom" star to go?
Nothing was mentioned by MTV or Vacations By Design in terms of whether or not this was considered as an option.

The original price of the cruise started at $701 and went all the way up to $1,409. A full refund can be expected for those that had booked the trip already. There have been no announcements of how many fans had booked the trip but we do know they may be planning on trying this trip again in the summer of 2018.
