Ed Sheeran has predicted when the 26-year-old star could drop her new album. It was originally assumed that Taylor Swift would release new music by September, October, November, or even March. Fans have been waiting for her highly-anticipated new album and it looks like they will have to wait a few more months. Sheeran's new album, "Divide," is set for release on Friday. In an interview with BBC, he commented on Swift's music drop. That's when he hinted that she probably will not release anything until Christmastime, which is the best time for artists to release new music.

He waited until 2017 to drop his album since Beyoncé, The Weeknd, and Bruno Mars all dropped new music last year. Even Adele was still riding the high off of the success of her latest album, "25." Ed said that he looks forward to taking over 2017, for the most part. For the remainder of the year, however, it looks like Taylor Swift will be taking over the pop music genre. With such a late release, it also looks like she will be taking over the first part of 2018.
Swift decided to remove herself from the biannual album release cycle in 2016 and has been maintaining a low profile. She hasn't been spotted with her famous girl squad and she hasn't been seen walking the streets of New York City.
That hasn't stopped the international pop star from releasing new music through other means. She was the co-writer for ex Calvin Harris' hit song "This Is What You Came For" featuring Rihanna. It was also reported that she wrote the song "Good Man" for the country band Little Big Town. Then, Swift released her "Fifty Shades Darker" collaboration "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" with Zayn Malik and played a single show, where she performed the song live for the first time.
