It would not be wrong to say that animal movies contain some of the most memorable cinema characters. Whether Hollywood filmmakers release movies about weird animals or four-legged actors, it is fun to see these projects. We cannot forget about “Air Bud,” “The Aristocats,” and “Fly Away Home,” but it is time to look forward. This year will bring some very exciting movies about pets. Let us begin the countdown.

‘The Croods 2’

Less than two months after a new writing team was brought into the project, “The Croods 2” became a history. Universal Pictures announces that the film will be released by the end of this year.

Though fans are slightly tired of the long-in-the-works sequel to the 2013 toon, the movie will come up their expectations. It is a follow-up to “The Croods,” which grossed up to $587 million worldwide. Kevinand Dan Hageman writes the script of “Crood 2.” We feel that this movie will break the records of previous films.

‘Spark: A Space Tail’

A few days ago, the first official trailer of “Spark: A Space Tail” was released. This animated movie is directed by Aaron Woodley and has the voices of Jace Norman, Susan Sarandon, Hilary Swank, Jessica Biel, and Patrick Stewart. As the film is the producer of “The Nut Job,” we have high expectations. The movie will be released on April 14, 2017. Open Road Films announces that it is a simple story about pets and how humans attract towards animals.

‘The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature.'

Following the events of the first film, Surly and his friends stop Oakton City's mayor from destroying the city. “The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature” is one of the most anticipated films of the years. Director Cal Brunker says that it is a sequel to the 2014 film “The Nut Job.” The film stars Will Arnett, Gabriel Iglesias, Jeff Dunham, and Katherine Heigl.

Promos reveal that Katherine Heigl voices The Nut Job. Open Road Films announces that Surly (Will Arnett) teams up with the park animals to prevent Oakton City's crooked mayor (Bobby Moynihan) from bulldozing Liberty Park.
