It would not be wrong to say that 2017 has some very exciting, and stacked lineups of horror and thriller films. By the end of the year, big projects will be released, including “Logan,” “Kong: Skull Island,” and others. It seems that 2017 will be good for space movies too. Franchises like "Star Wars," and "Star Trek," are expected to hit the theaters, and we cannot wait to see them. Here is a list of upcoming films with stories about aliens.

‘The Circle’

A recent trailer of film “The Circle” reveals that Emma Watson and Tom Hanks play the leading roles.

To create excitement among fans, the movie is set in a slick, social media-dominated future where nothing is private. Hanks plays Mark Zuckerberg, the villain of the film. Watson says that the film is based on the 2013 novel of the same name, and her role is fantastic. She plays Mae Holland, a young woman who joins a technology company. Promos of the film remind of Charlie Brooker's dystopian series “Black Mirror.” We are excited because the trailer shows that John Boyega has the power to change the things. The film will be released on April 28, 2017.

‘Geostorm’

Nothing is worse than asteroids hurtling toward Earth, and aliens blowing up popular monuments. “Geostorm” is an anticipated film because it is a story of aliens that aim to change the world, causing tidal waves, tornadoes, and explosions.

Gerard Butler saves the world from these weird creatures. He plays Jake, an intelligent scientist. He and his brother Max (Jim Sturgess) decide to solve the satellite malfunction. The story sounds interesting, and “Geostorm” is scheduled to be released on October 20, 2017. The Warner Bros announces that this film marks the feature directorial debut of “Independence Day” producer-scribe Dean Devlin from a script he wrote with Paul Guyot.

‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’

Based on a famous French novel, “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film features Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne. Both Dane and Cara look incredible in the trailer. They play time-travelling agents sent to investigate a galactic empire.

Early footage promises that this movie will have awe-inspiring visuals, and Hollywood fans eagerly wait for this film. Its first trailer was released a few months ago. Luc Besson announces that a brand new trailer for “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” will be released in a few days. The film is scheduled to be released on July 21, 2017.
