"How I Met Your Mother," while most often compared to 90's cult classic, "Friends," still has an impressive number of fans, not only in the United States but also in other parts of the world. The witty and sometimes all too real adventures and mishaps of Ted, Marshall, Lily, Robin and Barney have become a home for the viewers, with some hanging on to reruns just for good old times sake. It's been almost three years since the last episode aired and the fans just miss the gang so much. Thankfully, in late 2016, there were reports that a "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff might be in the works.

The series finale was not what everyone was expecting. In fact, the finale elicited different reactions from the fans. Some felt that the finale was a bit rushed, while some were clearly not happy that Robin eventually ended with Ted. In the online discussions, the ending of "How I Met Your Mother" was like a big maze that everyone had to go through only to have ended up in the same starting line. Thankfully, the fans will have another chance to see their favorite characters once again, and who knows, there might be some major changes in the expected time jump.

How are Ted, Marshall, Lily, Robin and Barney?

Of course, in every spinoff, the fans are excited to see what's going on with the characters.

Did they live happily ever after? Or did they regret some decisions they have made in the finale? In the upcoming "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff, the fans clearly have a lot of questions and predictions on how their favorite characters are doing.

First off, are Robin and Ted still happy in love? To be clear, it has been an established fact that Robin Scherbatsky is a fickle lover.

Some fans even believe that she is anti-thesis of Barny, the male version of the group's resident playboy. And in a sense, she really is. In fact, she has dated a lot of guys, including Ted and Barney, and has also opened herself up for a stranger who simply got naked in her living room, which can be seen in "The Naked Man" episode.

Spinoff on the brink of cancellation?

As of writing, fans will just have to wait for further news and updates as the "HIMYM" spin-off is reportedly back on the pending pipeline as the writers are busy with a new project, specifically, "This Is Us." Further, the actor who plays the role of Ted Mosby, Josh Radnor, is reportedly busy with a new project as well. Josh Radnor will be starring in NBC's new series, "Drama High."
