"The Vampire Diaries" fans who want to see a certain "The Originals" crossover romance could be in for some good news. The series finale of the parent show will include a major death that could mean a character makes a move for love. Yes, this is all about the still unofficial ship Klaroline.

Since "The Vampire Diaries" season 3, fans have wanted to see the Klaroline ship become official. Fans loved seeing how Klaus changed because of his interest and potential love for Caroline. She was even able to return some feelings by the end of Klaus' time on the show.

It's just never been a reality until this moment.

Who will die in 'The Vampire Diaries' series finale?

There is definitely going to be a death in the very last episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. This isn't going to be any character, but a major one. There are only a few major characters that would really matter to the show: Elena, Damon, Stefan, Bonnie, Caroline, and Matt. Considering the way that the storyline has gone so far, it looks like Stefan is a good possibility.

Two episodes ago, Stefan was turned human. He is now living on borrowed time and fans suspect that he will sacrifice his life for Damon, allowing Damon to drink the cure from him and become human to be with Elena -- who is going to return for the series finale.

Julie Plec shares finale secrets

To help wrap up "TVD," Julie Plec took to Twitter for a Q&A. She gave mostly one-word answers to the questions, sharing that the final scene will be at the Salvatore Boarding House and that it will definitely be a main character who will die. When fans asked if Klaroline would happen, she answered with a non-committal answer.

Does this mean that Caroline is going to make a choice to leave Mystic Falls and go to New Orleans to help save Klaus?

The only reason Caroline would do that is if Stefan died. She could decide that Alaric and the twins have to stay away from her for their own safety and that she is better helping another immortal being.

"The Vampire Diaries" continues on Fridays at 8pm on the CW. The series will end on March 10, and it is supposed to have an ending that will connect to "The Originals" season 4 premiere a week later.
