She is popular with the viewers, and has also gained the support of some of the Bachelor Alumn, as seen in Ben Higgins' tweet.

And our next Bachelorette is...

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" is having Rachel Lindsay as their guest tonight so that "The Bachelor" franchise can name her the Bachelorette for the upcoming season. Mike Fleiss, creator of the show, is calling this an "historic announcement." Rachel is the first African-American Bachelorette in history, and this will finally settle the issue of diversity.

Now, for a refresher on her background.

Rachel is an attorney from Houston, Texas. She told Nick that her father is an intimidating man and a federal judge. He is Sam Lindsay, a federal judge in Dallas, appointed to the bench in 1998 by President Bill Clinton. One of her role models is Michelle Obama, who she would like to "spend a day in the life of" if she could.

From her bio it sounds like she is very career-driven.

Why so early for the announcement?

Some fans don't like spoilers! They don't want to know and want to be surprised when it airs. With social media, avoiding spoilers is getting harder and harder. Now "The Bachelor" franchise has made early announcements with both Nick's season and Rachel's if Reality Steve's sources are correct.
