One of the most popular and appreciated creatures on the long list that we can find in Pokémon is the multi-faceted Eevee. This gentle character has the characteristic of being able to evolve into 8 different forms in the mainstream games of the franchise. In “Pokémon GO” only 3 of these 8 forms were available (Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon). In its most recent update, Eevee garnered two more evolutions (Espeon and Umbreon). The evolution works in very different ways in the games for consoles of Nintendo than in the popular application, whereas in the consoles of Nintendo you need special stones, in “Pokémon GO” the process is random, unless you know how.

Next, we show you the specific steps to follow in order to get these new items and the best way to use them. Let’s see below.

How to get the best new evolutions of Eevee

The easter egg that the Niantic programmers integrated into the game play a big part in this process. The evolution of Eevee in the second generation is random unless it is named in a special way. If you want a Jolteon you must name it Sparky, if you want a Flareon, just put Pyro, and if you want the coveted Vaporeon, you should name it Rainer. Following this idea, if you want to ensure the evolution of your Eevee to Espeon or Umbreon, you must name it Sakura or Tamao, respectively. These names, just like the first 3, are winks to the popular animated series, because these are the names of the trainers that owned these Pokemon.

Additional information

So far, no other second-generation Pokémon have been reported exclusive to the different regions of the game. On the other hand, new rumors have surfaced on social networks where there is talk of a possible new update for the game which would bring the two second generation Pokemon that were not included in the recent upgrade.

However, so far, nothing has been confirmed by Niantic about it, so users of the application will just have to wait to know more.

This is all the information known so far. Keep enjoying the game, and stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
