Jar Jar Binks, the name that almost upended a franchise. There is no more hated character in the "Star Wars" movie universe than the little Gungan who was supposed to bring a bit of comedy relief to the prequel trilogy. Instead, his constant screwing up and apparent lack of anything that could be considered intellect made quite a few people hope he would find a grisly end. Now a new report appears to have figured out just what happened to the character and it just might make some people feel a bit sad for the loathsome creature.
The later life of Jar Jar Binks
The thing to make clear is this book has indeed been accepted as canon. It appears it was written by the author because they too hated the creature. In a new Star Wars novel titled "Star Wars Aftermath: Empire's End" the final disposition of the man who really did help the empire take over the galaxy for a time, doesn't die, as many might have hoped.
In fact, it appears Jar Jar Binks lived out his life, attempting to entertain children. While that might be something that seems like a sort of pleasant end, there are comments in the story which seem to want us to know that this Star Wars tale is now ending with the character living out his life as a kind of sad clown.
Even worse is that the comments appear to show that he understands just how poorly his life has turned out.
'Jar Jar makin some uh-oh mistakens'
The part in this new Star Wars novel that shows Binks' end was a bit more tragic than dying in some epic laser battle comes when he's talking to an orphan in the book. Gamespot reports Jar Jar understands he helped the empire gain the power it needed to take over.
"Desa hisen Naboo tink I help the uh-oh Empire." The creature says. The book adds that after he makes the comments he, "stares into the distance, suggesting he knows more than he's saying."
It appears in this particular Star Wars book, Jar Jar Binks knows he made some horrible mistakes. Even worse is that he knows his new lot in life, as a kid's entertainer.
