"Britney Ever After" received a lot of negative criticism before the biopic aired. Therefore, it is not surprising that the criticism continued after it premiered on lifetime on Saturday night, February 18. The unsanctioned biopic showed some key moments in Spears' troublesome life and career. Natasha Bennett played the part of the pop singer. Nathan Keyes was her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, and Clayton Chitty had the role of her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Criticism of the film

Critics pointed out that the biopic was doomed from the very beginning of the story because it began with the singer's life in 1998 without any background information about her before she became famous.

Critics cited that nothing was told about the 35-year-old's life before she released her first single.

Too many pieces missing

Even though most people have been following Britney Spears for years and know a lot about her, critics believe too many pieces of her life are missing in the biopic. There were interesting parts of Spears' life that fans didn't get to see because they were missing from the movie.

Celebrities' reaction

Celebrities didn't hold back when they described the two-hour movie on Lifetime. They cited inaccuracies, including a dance battle between Spears and Timberlake after they had split and a sex tape that never existed.

Neither Spears nor her team approved the making of the movie.

Some celebrities echoed the same opinion that Britney Spears did not deserve the way the movie portrayed her. Viewers expressed their disappointment on Twitter. They pointed out the inadequate account of having a flat screen TV on Britany's tour bus and people using iPhones and texting in the early 2000s. While those thing are common today, they didn't exist then.

People complained that the actors didn't look anything like the people they were portraying. They even complained that Lifetime didn't dress Bassett in Spears' iconic outfits. Fans pointed out that Britney didn't wear a denim pantsuit to the 2001 American Music Awards. She and Timberlake did dress in denim, but Britney wore a denim dress.

Even though critics did not fall in love with "Britney Ever After," they concluded that in real life the pop singer rose to fame and fell from grace in her career and personal life, but she made a good comeback and is now doing well as a great entertainer.
