A film par excellence blended with the powerful performance of veteran actor Nandamuri balakrishna; this is how we can review the new Telugu movie "Gautamiputra Satakarni" which was released on January 13, 2017. Directed by Krish, this film revolves around the story of Gautamiputra Satakarni, a brave warrior who tries to bring various kingdoms under single Satavahana Province. Shriya Sharan and Hema Malini have played the roles of his lady love.

Nandamuri Balakrishna at his best

Nandamuri Balakrishna has that extra capability to portray historical roles with perfection, and when it comes to "Gautamiputra Satakarni", the actor repeats the same magic. The veteran performer literally lived as the ferocious warrior, and his unique dialogue delivery was a sheer treat to watch.

The actor's age and unhealthy physique have spoiled the show a bit, but he made these flaws unnoticed with his excellent screen presence.

Both Shriya and Hema Malini had equal screen space in this movie, and both of them excelled in their respective roles.

Average direction, powerful dialogues

Director Krish has failed to craft the movie in a crispy manner. The storyline of the film was fragile, but it was the powerful dialogues which saved the sinking ship.

Most of the punch dialogues will remain in your heart even after you leave the theatres. Balakrishna did a fantastic job in fight scenes, and his energy level in these sequences was awesome.

Public response

Top-rated technicalities

The film is high in its technical departments.

The cinematography handled by Gnana Sekhar succeeded in giving the natural feel of historical visuals. Chirantan Bhatt's music too is outstanding. The negative element in this movie is its editing. The amateur cuts from Rama Krishna Aram negatively impacted the overall flow of the film.

Final verdict

"Gautamiputra Satakarni" is Nandamuri Balakrishna's 100th film, and he has made it memorable in all means.

Box-office prediction

Considering the number of release centres, "Gautamiputra Satakarni" is expected to gross more than 20 Crores by the end of this weekend.
