There are several compelling reasons why Jack and Phyllis may find their way back to each other on “The Young and the Restless.” The dust will soon settle from the Jabot shakeup, and the damage done to Genoa City under Mal Young’s tenure. Gina Tognoni will be gone and Michelle Stafford back in the saddle of the role she originated. There is a method to the madness and viewers will soon find out the plans Josh Griffith has in store. Reuniting Phyllis and Jack makes sense on so many levels. The hatred they have been expressing toward one another hides a deep passion that was buried after she cheated with Billy.

Jack and Phyllis are survivors

One reason Phyllis and her former spouse may end up together again is that the love never died. Their emotions were buried during the time she slept with Billy. Victor replacing Jack with Marco has been a stumbling block as well. Now that some time has gone by and Billy is back with Victoria, he will not be a problem if his brother gets back together with his former wife. There is also the fact that Michelle Stafford is returning, and she may have been brought back to "The Young and the Restless" for just this purpose.

During their recent encounters, viewers could sense the passion beneath the rage when Jack and Phyllis argued. At one point it looked as if he might have taken her in his arms and kissed her, but he held his poker face.

New head writer Josh Griffith has made some moves to return "The Young and the Restless" to its glory days, so reuniting Phack might be one of his strategies. This couple has endured so much, but they are both survivors. There is also the fact that there is no one else in town to be a love interest for either of them at this time.

Phack reunion inevitable on 'Y&R'

Nikki and Victor are on solid ground for the time being and Billy and Victoria are finding their way back to each other. Adam will end up with either Sharon or Chelsea and "The Young and the Restless" seems to be toying with the idea of Cane and Traci. Kyle is stuck between Summer and Lola, Laureen and Michael are doing well, and Rey has his eyes on Sharon.

It's only a matter of time before Phack ends up hooking up, even if only for a season.

Viewers should keep their eyes on Michelle Stafford when she returns as Phyllis because this is probably when things in Genoa City will shift. Right now, Lauren and Jack are getting closer so Phyllis may turn to Michael. This would really shake up "Y&R" fans. At some point, the writers will explore Jack and Phyllis again. The Genoa City drama continues on CBS.
