On "The Young and the Restless," 47-year-old Daniel Goddard portrays Cane Ashby who was married to Lily, played by 31-year-old Christel Khalil. The age difference was not that big of a deal but if he is paired with Traci Abbott,(60-year-old Beth Maitland) viewers may look at the situation differently. In addition to there being a 13-year gap between the actors, there are other factors to consider. Traci's deceased daughter Coleen was Lily's best friend, which made her a mother figure to Neil's daughter. The two women were very close and Cane even cried on Ms.

Abbott's shoulders when trying to repair his marriage. She is now having fantasies about Mr. Ashby, which could make things pretty awkward.

Traci and Cane have stumbling blocks in the way

Traci is in the process of writing a new book, and whenever she fantasizes about the hero, he always looks just like Cane. Ms. Abbott and Mr. Ashby's paths seem to continue to be crossing as time goes on. She was on hand to prevent a fight between her brother Billy and his stepbrother and later talk Cane down when he was drunk. Traci has also found Lily's soon to be ex crying on her doorstep. On Wednesday's episode of "The Young and the Restless" as the two friends were talking, Traci was imagining Cane without a shirt on.

It's clear that Jack and Ashley's sister is changing the way she sees Lily's estranged spouse but does he feel the same? Is Traci simply getting caught up in her book or are her emotions romantic in nature? She has always looked at Lily from a motherly perspective, but Cane's age falls in between the two women. He is still very much in love with his wife, but "Y&R" may be about to change that.

If the two lonely adults continue to hang out, there is a possibility that something could come from it. More than likely, however, Coleen and Lily will always be stumbling blocks.

Traci may be setting herself up for heartbreak

"The Young and the Restless” spoilers have not indicated where this friendship is headed. Traci may simply be writing her book, or she could really be falling for Cane.

Christel Khalil is on the recurring status, and her character has left Genoa City. This leaves Cane needing a love interest Hr and Traci are an unlikely couple, but in time it may work. There is also a chance that Ms. Abbott could find her feelings are one-sided and have her heart broken.

Traci has not had an onscreen love interest since divorcing her husband, Steve. This is why it will be interesting to see where her friendship with Cane will end up.
