Throughout our world, we progress through the roller coaster that each of our lives represents through all of the ups and downs. For the most part, we can sometimes find ourselves in a loss of control of the current circumstances or situations we're in. Our lives are like valleys with all of the ups and down. But the key to it is to never allow your lows to become so low that they put you in a state of despair, and your highs to never reach so high that you allow success to get to your head.

Are we truly in control of everything?

One of the harsh realities of our lives is that we are never truly capable of controlling every aspect of it in regards to what happens to us.

But we can always control how we determine it or whether we should continue to endure it. Trying to control our lives is like surfing while simultaneously trying to control how strong the waves are. You have to learn to surf in all conditions.

There are some conditions that we are put through that we simply cannot change. This could be for a multitude of reasons, as times and circumstances are changing. This is also based on the fact that you can't control what other people do. You can influence them, but at the end of the day, they're going to do whatever they want to do. There will always be people in our lives that will remain close to us. Then there are some that will turn their backs. It is best to determine the real from the fake early on.

Some things are just out of our hands

One of the greatest things we can do for our mental health and overall quality of life is to be able to determine the situations that we cannot change, and be able to walk away from them. There is no shame in walking away from a disastrous situation. Our power doesn't lie in being able to fix every circumstance that comes our way.

Our strength comes from being able to challenge ourselves to control the way we respond to what happens to us.

We are not always to be held accountable for our circumstances, but we are always responsible for the health of our wellbeing. It doesn't matter what happens to you, it matters what you take from every situation and that you adapt and grow from it.

If you cant accept a situation, change it, if you cant change it, leave it. Leaving a situation is not about quitting, it is about putting your quality of life and mental and emotional health first, for it is only resetting your sights on the path to the bright future that you are capable of and deserve.
