Beyoncé will not be attending the 2017 Met Gala. That is the big news item of the day. "ET" just asked Met Gala Queen Anna Wintour, what the Beehive leader would be wearing this year. Wintour replied that Beyoncé had other things on her mind. She was no doubt referring to the fact that Ms. Knowles is expecting twins very soon. Katy Perry and Pharrell Phillips will be the 2017 hosts.
The Met Gala Ball
The Met Gala, officially known as The Costume Institute Gala, and sometimes as The Met Ball, is an annual fundraising event for the "Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute of New York." In February "People Style" announced that husband and wife, Tom Brady and Giselle Bundchen would also be co-hosting.
It's interesting that Entertainment Tonight chose to focus on a woman who is about to give birth any day.
Ann Wintour had an exasperated look on her face. Clearly, she was annoyed with the question of what Queen Bey would be wearing. IN a 2015 online article, The New York Times stated that the ball was called the Met Gala, but "Anna Wintour's Party." Perhaps Ms. Wintour did not desire the Beehive Queen to upstage the event she has put so much into.
When Cultures Collide
Ms. Wintour came of age in a very different society than what we now live in. Social media drive the culture and even the media. It's a sign of the times, when a reporter wants a scoop about a woman who is about to give birth, rather than the Met Gala itself, Ms.
Wintour, or the four co-hosts. Katy Peery and Pharrell Phillips are celebrities in their right. So are Giselle Bundchen and Tom Brady. Unfortunately, the 4r of them along with Anna Wintour and the entirety of those who will attend the gala, do not have the status of Beyoncé Knowles, in the eyes of the fans or the press.
Entertainment Tonight probably thought they would be the first to break the news, of the wacky outfit that a pregnant Beyoncé would be wearing.
It's obvious that if possible, photo's would be taken of Queen Bey in the delivery room and immediately after if she allowed. And at this point, she has a status that upstages everything and everyone around her. It's just the way it is at this point in time.
The gala will go on, and as in the past be a hit and raise a lot of money.
Ms. Wintour, Perry, Phillips, Brady, and Bundchen will do a spectacular job. Let's just hope the paparazzi on hand, will focus on the moment, and not bring up Beyoncé Knowles, who as Anna Wintour so graciously said, has other things on her mind.
