On Sunday morning, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to post his Easter message but it quickly became a rant about his border wall and Daca. Within minutes, critics of the president made sure to hit back with a few thoughts of their own.

Trump on Easter

For the second time as President of the United States, Donald Trump is celebrating Easter Sunday.

After arriving as his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida on Thursday, the president spent the weekend with his family before planning to head back to the White House. While Trump has been known to use social media to criticize his political opponents and so-called "fake news" outlets, the commander in chief has also used the platform to post holiday greetings, though appeared to go off course this year.

In a series of tweets on April 1, Donald Trump tweeted and wished the American people a Happy Easter, before going off on a multi-tweet meltdown about the future of the DACA program. "Happy Easter," Trump tweet first. "Border Patrol Agents are not allowed to properly do their job at the Border because of ridiculous liberal laws like Catch and Release," Trump wrote.

"Getting more dangerous. 'Caravans' coming. Republicans must go to Nuclear Option to pass tough laws NOW," he wrote, while announcing in all caps "NO MORE DACA DEAL!"

Not stopping there, the former host of "The Apprentice" then sent two more tweets about immigration.

"Mexico is doing very little, if not NOTHING, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S." Donald Trump noted. "They laugh at our dumb immigration laws," he tweeted, while stating, "They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA.

NEED WALL!"

Easter backlash

Not long after Donald Trump tweeted his immigration rant on Easter, those who oppose the current administration wasted no time responding back. "Really? On Easter?" one tweet read.

"Jesus loves you, but doesn't forgive your treason," a Twitter user wrote. "Are you fuc*ing serious? Can you act or even try to sound presidential for one day?" another tweet added.

"I think we’ve finally identified that 400# man tweeting in his bed," an additional tweet sarcastically wrote.

"I’m sure your religious supporters appreciate this Easter themed tweet," a social media user wrote with mockery.

"This 'call out' about the wall is simply a ruse to get your Trumpettes agitated so that you can change congressional process to limit our democracy (nuclear option) Putin's Puppet will not stop dismantling our democratic process until we stop him," yet another tweet stated.
