One teen and his two friends decided to get revenge in the most violent, disgusting way possible. The chief architect of the crime is a 15-year-old minor. He and his two friends decided that by killing the ringleader's mother, they would get revenge after an unwanted move to Maine.

According to the Kennebec Journal, documents filed at Maine's Capital Judicial Center indicate that the 15-year-old son, and a pair of teenagers, one aged thirteen and the other fifteen, murdered 47-year-old Kimberly Mironovas.

Police believe that Lukas Mironovas, William Smith, and Thomas Severance conspired to kill Mironovas over the most recent weekend. The initial crime was planned for Saturday night, and included a plot to place crushed up prescription pills in a glass of wine.

When the pills failed to completely dissolve in the wine, Lukas and William put on masks and gloves, while Lukas armed himself with a knife. During the early morning hours of Sunday, Lukas and William strangled Kimberly. Lukas then stabbed his own mother in the neck. Police found Kimberly Mironovas' body at approximately 2:00 am on Sunday at her Litchfield, Maine home.

Motive?

No official motive was given on Monday when police filed court documents in the case. However, Sage Arlene Lockhart, a friend of Kimberly's, told the Associated Press that Lukas held a grudge against his mother for their recent move to Maine from Massachusetts. Lockhart told the press that Lukas is known to have a temper, and his anger management problems are likely the reason why he was expelled from school.

In contrast to her son, Kimberly has been described as "gentle" and "caring," with Lockhart, who attended the Aveda Institute, a cosmetology school, alongside Kimberly, saying that the deceased mother always had a smile on her face.

Upcoming trial

The prosecution team, led by Assistant Attorney General Meg Elam, seems to be planning on trying the three boys as adults rather than juveniles.

If tried as adults, each could face a minimum sentence of twenty-five years. If tried as juveniles, then the boys would only remain behind bars until they each turned twenty-one.

Kevin Sullivan, the attorney for 13-year-old Thomas Severance, claims that his client only participated in the planning of the crime, not the murder itself. Sullivan has also characterized his client as "distraught" over the actions of Lukas and William -- according to Fox News.

The defense lawyers for the other two boys have yet to provide comments to the media. All three are currently being held in custody at the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland, Maine. In the coming months, each boy will receive a mental health screening in order to see if they are competent to stand trial.
