The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (Daca) was set to expire on Monday, but due to various federal judges, permits will continue to be renewed. With the original deadline arriving, Donald Trump decided to lash out and attack the Democratic Party.

Trump on DACA

The DACA program has become one of the most talked about parts of the entire immigration debate. The program allows undocumented immigrants brought into the United States illegally when they were children to stay in the country as long as they fit the criteria.

Democrats have been strong supporters of DACA, with many Republicans pushing back, calling for instant deportation. For Donald Trump, he's tried to keep a hard line on immigration to appeal to his base, while also pushing a narrative that the White House believes could sell to the general public in an attempt to take heat off himself and his entire team.

While the March 5 deadline is now a non-starter due to the orders by multiple federal judges forcing the Department of Homeland Security to continue renewing DACA permits, Donald Trump still took time to tweet out his frustration and accuse the Democrats of not caring about the issue.

"It’s March 5th and the Democrats are nowhere to be found on DACA," Trump tweet. "Gave them 6 months, they just don’t care," he added, before rhetorically asking, "Where are they? We are ready to make a deal!" Within minutes of his tweet, the president came under fire from critics.

DACA backlash

After Donald Trump put the blame on the Democratic Party for not getting a long-term deal done on DACA, those who continue to oppose the president wasted no time in sounding off. "Like the deal you made with Stormy Daniels?" actor Tommy Campbell wrote.

"Deal was on the table. You rejected it," one Twitter user pointed out. "They went to find your Russian Sanctions, million dollar donation check, and those tax returns you can’t find," a follow-up tweet added.

"They made one ages ago, which you shot down. This is all after you shot down the original deal instead of just renewing it," yet another tweet stated.

"You do realize that literally nobody believes you," a follow-up tweet stated. "DUDE. YOU KILLED DACA IN THE FIRST PLACE!! Stop trying to blame it on Democrats," a social media user noted. The negative reaction continued as the backlash to Donald Trump and the current administration showed no signs of coming to an end.
