Donald Trump faces charges of Obstruction Of Justice after his former national security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors. According to legal specialists and Democrats, Trump might have unintentionally admitted to charges following Michael Flynn’s prosecution.

After staying silent for months, invisible to the federal prosecutors, Flynn walked into the courtroom in Washington DC on Friday morning and pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI as part of a more significant plot to rock the core of the Trump White House.

After agreeing to cooperate with the prosecutors, Flynn earned protection for himself and potentially his son Michael Flynn Jr. Flynn Jr was working for his father when he was instructed to open a dialogue with the former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Flynn admitted before the prosecutors saying he was told by a “very senior member of the presidential transition team” to halt the resolutions sanctioned by the Obama administration.

Flynn admits that he lied to the FBI

President Trump was unusually silent as the spectacle unfolded. Flynn’s change of heart shook the White House, a scheduled photoshoot in the Oval Office with Libya prime minister Sarraj was later canceled. The US president remarked in a tweet on Saturday claiming he fired Flynn because he lied to the FBI and the vice-president about his encounter with the former Russian ambassador.

Trump’s tweet could mean that the president was indeed aware that Flynn committed a serious offense and went ahead to block the FBI investigation into Flynn. Richard Painter, a former counsel to the former president W Bush said the president is tweeting himself into a conviction of obstruction of justice.

The FBI director James Comey said he received instructions from the president to halt the investigation but after refusing to comply was later fired.Trump also denied ever making such a request to the FBI director.

Flynn made a statement saying it has been a hard a couple of months of accusations of treason.

Robert Mueller’s move to accept the plea deal goes to show that Flynn has more sensitive information that may implicate very powerful members of Trump’s administration. In an attempt to distance the president and his former senior aide, the lead lawyer for the president said “Nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn.

The president attacked the FBI and ABC News which suspended veteran journalist Brian Ross who made an error when he reported on the prosecution of Michael on Friday.
