Over the last six months, Ivanka Trump has continued to play a role in her father's administration, officially holding the title as White House assistant. One of Ivanka's hot topics is Human Sex trafficking, which she recently addressed on social media.
Ivanka on trafficking
When Donald Trump first announced that he was going to run for president back in June 2015, he did so on the floor of Trump Tower in New York City with his family by his side. One of those family members was his daughter Ivanka, who has long been considered one of the president's go-to voices.
As the campaign moved forward, Ivanka took more of an active role, often appearing in interviews to defend her father and attempt to dismiss the negative public perception that had been created during the election. Following Trump's upset win over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton last November, questions were then raised as to what role some of his family members would have in his administration. Son-in-law Jared Kushner has played a major role, being tapped to handle multiple aspects in the White House. In addition, Ivanka has been working as the president's assistant, while taking on a few side issues of her own. One issue that has remained at the top of Ivanka's list has been putting an end to human trafficking, which she highlighted during a June 28 post on Twitter.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, Ivanka Trump used her over four million social media followers to highlight the urgency of ending human sex trafficking around the world, quoting Boom Mosby of the international HUG Project out of Thailand.
"We are all confronted with the choice - to do nothing, or to do something." - Boom Mosby, HUG Project, Thailand," Ivanka tweeted, while using the hashtags "#TIPHeroes" and "#EndTrafficking."

Ivanka Trump's tweet doubles down on comments she made earlier in the week during a ceremony at the State Department.
"The stories of those we honor today demonstrate why combating this crime here in the United States as well as around the world, is in both our moral and strategic interests,” Ivanka said.
Twitter reacts
Not long after Ivanka Trump sent out her tweet, she was hit with an onslaught of criticism on social media. "You had a choice too, Ma'am, and your decision was to become a surrogate for an evil & incompetent @POTUS," Joe Papp tweeted in response.

"I thought you stayed out of politics?
Why are you acting on our country's behalf? Where is your stepmother?" another Twitter user wondered. "Seriously, do you understand the actual meaning behind your words? There can't be this much irony in your declarations," one tweet added.

"So you made the choice to treat the women who work in your factory badly? Noted," an additional tweet pointed out.
"Stop trying to fool America. You are as crooked as the rest of your family only you do it with a fake smile," a follow-up tweet read. The negative response to Ivanka Trump's tweet continued as it was made clear that the political opposition to the White House is not going to end anytime soon.
