Saturday Night Live created a segment this past Saturday night about White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway and her recent disappearance from the public scene of late. The two-minute skit was titled: Where in the World Is Kellyanne Conway?. The skit was a takeoff on the 1990s children's gumshoe television game show Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?. Kellyanne Conway is back and this time defending the sudden and abrupt firing of FBI Director James Comey to CNN's Anderson Cooperon Tuesday night shortly after the firing.

"It's not a coverup" insisted Trump's controversial campaign manager in the final stages of the 2016 presidential campaign. Anderson Cooper wanted to know from Kellyanne Conway why the Trump administration is all of a sudden concerned about the Hillary Clinton private server investigation.

Trump praised Comey during the presidential campaign

Mr. Cooper pointed out to her that on a number of occasions then-candidate Trump praised Mr. Comey for the "courage" to go after Clinton. He also said that her contention that the firing was based on the recommendation of the deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein.

Anderson Cooper told her that answer "makes no sense."

Ms. Conway, with a new set of talking points, laid this on the lap of the deputy attorney general, who she says was confirmed overwhelmingly in a bipartisan manner by a vote of 94-6 and that he also worked for the Obama administration.

Trump justifies firing and was driven by deputy attorney general

In a letter from the Department of Justice and the Trump White House, the July 2016 press conference announcing no charges would be filed against Hillary Clinton, as the driving force behind the Comey firing. United States deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein cited as much in his letter justifying the firing. Conway also told Cooper that the firing was not related to the Russian ties to the Trump campaign investigations.

On Wednesday morning, the co-host of CNN's morning show "New Day" Chris Cuomo, questioned Ms. Conway along the same lines. Mr. Cuomo questioned the timing of the firing and wanted to know why all of a sudden Trump is upset about the treatment of Huma Abedin. Conway pushed back at Cuomo as she always does in defending all things Trump. Conway also told Cuomo that the "people of the FBI" have lost confidence in Mr. Comey.

Once again, President Donald Trump went on a tweetstorm this Wednesday morning in defending the firing. He ended the tweetstorm tweeting that the American people will be "thanking him" for the firing.
