On Wednesday, House Intel Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes met with President Donald Trump and revealed information about the committee's investigation on Russian interference in the election. Backlash quickly followed, which resulted in the response of the top Democrat on the committee.

Nunes, out?

The hottest story to dominate the news cycle since the conclusion of the 2016 presidential election has been whether or not Russia had an impact in the Donald Trump campaign and administration.

Russia and the White House have continued to deny any wrongdoing, despite various reports and investigations finding otherwise. On Wednesday, Republican Rep. Devin Nunes revealed information to the president stemming from the current investigation by the House Intelligence Committee into Russian's involvement with the election. During the meeting, Nunes reportedly informed Trump that there was some type of surveillance taking place at Trump Tower, but dismissed the president's claims that it was ordered by Barack Obama. As reported by The Hill on March 22, a Democratic member of the committee has come forward to confirm a link between Trump and Russia.

While speaking to MSNBC host Chuck Todd on Wednesday's "MTP Daily," House Intel Committee member Rep. Adam Schiff revealed that there is "more than circumstantial" evidence to prove Donald Trump was working with the Russians. "I can tell you that the case is more than that," Schiff told Todd. "I can't go into the particulars, but there is more than circumstantial evidence now," he went on to say.

"I don't want to go into specifics, but I will say that there is evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation," Adam Schiff continued, before adding, "So that is what we ought to do." Earlier in the day, Schiff spoke with the press where he was highly critical of Devin Nunes, going as far asking whether or not he was going to run a non-partisan investigation, or become a "surrogate" for the former host of "The Apprentice."

Moving forward

As of press time, Donald Trump has not offered an offical statement, but did tell the press he felt "vindicated" by the information revealed by Devin Nunes.

The scandal involving Trump and Russia doesn't appear like it will be ending anytime soon, and despite the push back from the administration, new information is being uncovered on a daily basis that isn't going to be in favor of Trump's agenda.
