New York Fashion Week started September 7, but unfortunately for fashion fans who wanted to see more, the event ended September 13. It was a week-long celebration of fashion that showcased new collections and featured celebrities on the runway.

There were several notable moments involving top celebrities such as Selena Gomez, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian. They shared the spotlight with the models and designers as they showcased their spectacular outfits.

Selena Gomez and her boyfriend The Weeknd hit the red carpet during the Harper’s Bazaar event in NYFW.

Selena wore a dazzling mini dress from the Valentino brand, while her boyfriend chose to stay classy in formal wear, AOL reported.

Entertainment Tonight spotted her wearing a 1960s inspired ensemble with a green-colored clutch and a pair of small hoop earrings. She and her boyfriend took a moment on the red carpet to share a kiss in front of the paparazzi and photographers.

The Harper’s Bazaar Icons party featured other prominent personalities such as Jared Leto, Gigi Hadid, Sofia Richie, Taylor Hill, Kim Kardashian, Adriana Lima, Cindy Bruna and Nicki Minaj. The magazine event was hosted by Carine Roitfeld and sponsored by Swarovski and Laura Mercier.

Nicki Minaj’s outrageous fashion

Rapper Nicki Minaj appeared several times at New York Fashion Week.

In one of her appearances, she wore a black strapless gown embellished with floral designs. AOL reported that she paired her outfit with a sparkling necklace accessory.

Harper’s Bazaar magazine also saw Minaj wearing a giant black and white fur coat during the Spring 2018 show of designer Oscar de la Renta. The “Anaconda” singer also performed during the Spring/Summer 2018 show of Philipp Plein, where she openly expressed her viewpoints about the world of fashion, Billboard noted.

Plein was the designer who made Floyd Mayweather’s clothing during his recently concluded fight against Conor McGregor. The 39-year-old fashion designer is also an advocate for diversity in the industry and has demonstrated this through his creations in past seasons of the runway show.

Rihanna’s motorbike on stage

Rihanna also made sure that she would be noticed during New York Fashion Week.

She wowed the crowd by riding on a motorbike driven across the runway stage, as she made her exit from the Fenty and Puma show on Sunday night, The Guardian reported.

The show was a combination of two sports, “motocross and surf.” She told the media that it was a “challenge to bring them together,” but she managed to put it all together in the right combination.
