June Shannon, known by many as Mama June, has been in the headlines recently for going from 460 to 160 pounds, according to what has been revealed on her reality show, "Mama June: From Not to Hot" on WeTV. She is in the news again for a different reason.

The 37-year-old reality star is about to become a grandmother again. She is already the grandmother to Anna's daughters, Kaitlyn, 5, and Kylee, 20 months. Now her 17-year-old daughter, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, is expecting a baby.

Announcement

The baby news was released on Monday, August 7 by Lauryn herself.

She revealed her pregnancy in a promotion for the second season of "Mama June: From Not to Hot" that returns in 2018. Lauryn made the announcement via a video on WeTV's website that she is pregnant. After announcing that she is having a baby, she said she didn't know the sex yet, but since there are so many girls in her family, it will probably be a girl.

The teenager is excited to become a new mother, but she admitted that she is concerned about certain things. For instance, she said the baby's father has a head the size of a watermelon. That makes her a little nervous about the size of the baby during delivery. Also, she is not looking forward to the hot days of summer during her full pregnancy.

She added that she wishes she could be pregnant for just 30 days instead of nine months.

According to E! News, Pumpkin has not revealed who the baby's father is. However, she was engaged to Joshua Efird in 2016. She also did not say how far along she is in her pregnancy or when the baby is due.

The grandmother

June has four daughters and two granddaughters.

She is the mother of Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, 22, Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon, 20, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, 17, and Alana "Honey Boo" Thompson, 11. All of Mama June's children have nicknames.

The reality star has not spoken out about having a third grandchild, but Lauryn says she believes her mother will be an all right grandmother to her child in spite of her eye condition.

The condition Pumpkin referred to is that her mother is legally blind. Her eyesight is so blurry that she can't get a driver's license. The grandmother's vision began to deteriorate as a child when she had cataracts that were not treated properly. When she was older, it was determined that surgery would do more harm than good. It turns out that it is something Shannon has to live with.

Mama June and her family became known from earlier versions of "Toddlers and Tiaras" and "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Shannon was the focus of both of those shows.
