At least five family-friendly movies will be released in next few months, ‘Usa Today’ reports. This season, “Alien: Covenant,” “The Beguiled,” “Dunkirk,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” and “Mother” will hit a theater near you. Other than this, several TV series, documentaries and franchise-starters are set to debut in the coming months.

‘Mother’

Various Hollywood actresses make a comeback with a mother role, and Jennifer Lawrence is a perfect example of that. “Mother” is scheduled to be released this July. According to USA Today, the film is directed by Darren Aronofsky who is already known for his excellent horror movies.

Other than Jennifer, “Mother” has Javier Bardem in the lead role. Kristen Wiig, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Domhall Gleeson play the supporting characters. A recently released trailer gives glimpses of the characters of Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem. Jennifer says that “Mother” is not the only movie she will have out in 2017. She plays a Russian spy in “Red Sparrow,” which is scheduled to be released in October 2017.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is an upcoming American superhero movie based on a novel of the same name. Marvel Studios confirms that the film will be released in May 2017. For this particular project, the studio teamed up with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and James Gunn.

The cast includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, and Karen Gillan. The story is about the Guardians who land the surface of an unknown planet, and face a lot of problems during their journey. ‘Alien: Covenant’

According to USA Today, Noomi Rapace reprises her role as Liz Shaw in “Alien: Covenant.” She previously played the same character in “Prometheus,” and fans are excited to know more about Liz Shaw.

A recently released teaser trailer of "Alien: Covenant" gives glimpses of John Denver’s character. The film is directed by Ridley Scott, with the screenplay by John Logan. It is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2017.

‘The Beguiled’

In “The Beguiled," Sofia Coppola is returning after a long time. Nothing is confirmed about the nature of her character in this movie.

However, Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst play the lead roles. The story is about John (Colin Farrell), who is a brave soldier and wants to save his city from terrorists. It looks like Sofia Coppola is playing a negative character, but director Yorgos Lanthimos has refused to comment anything. Roman Coppola would serve as an executive producer on the movie. It will be released this June.

‘Dunkirk’

A recent poster of “Dunkirk” shows off Christopher Nolan in a wild costume, creating excitement among fans. Director Christopher Nolan says the film features Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance and Harry Styles. The movie is set around World War II, but Nolan claims “Dunkirk” is not a war film but rather an amazing survival story. The movie is currently in post-production, and will be released in the third week of July 2017.
