Guests who visit Universal Studios Florida to ride the new "Race Through New York With Jimmy Fallon" ride might find themselves in a unique dilemma. They might discover that they don’t want to hop on board the actual ride because they’ve having too much fun in the waiting area.
Reserve a ride spot
"Race Through New York With Jimmy Fallon" uses a new virtual waiting system that allows guests to reserve a time for the latest offering at Universal Studios Florida. When they arrive at the designated time, they get to explore the interior of 30 Rock and immerse themselves in a little bit of Tonight Show and NBC history.
Soon they head upstairs to the main waiting area, with comfy, inviting couches and USB charging stations. You can kick back and relax or play a variety of games on the interactive screens in the seating area.
Be part of the Tonight Show
All of that would be enough entertainment, but the ride centers on the Tonight Show and the premise that guests are members of the audience. To make that experience as authentic as possible, Universal Studios Florida has two Tonight Show favorites on hand: the Ragtime Gals and Hashtag the Panda. As you enjoy the music and snap a selfie with Hashtag, you’ll barely notice the time ticking by until it’s time for your "Race Through New York With Jimmy Fallon" jaunt.
You’ll see Hashtag and the Ragtime Gals performing their pre-show in the video below:
Time flies when you're having fun
With so much to see and do, it can be hard to pull yourself away from that soft seat in the air conditioning while your nearly-dead phone recharges and you try to get a high score on one of the games. Fortunately, you don’t have to go immediately when your ride group is called for "Race Through New York With Jimmy Fallon." You can hang out as long as you want, relaxing or exploring the area.
If you’d like to see some of the exhibits, and also get a glimpse of some on-ride footage, check out the video below. When you visit the actual ride, you'll find that even the typically boring safety spiel is fun. How can you not enjoy it when it's presented as a rap?
If the virtual queue system works well for this new attraction, don’t be surprised to see it rolled out more broadly at Universal Studios Florida. While not all rides will have such an immersive pre-show area, slashing the wait time is always a welcome amenity.
