Epic Games will release Season 10 for "Fortnite Battle Royale" within a few weeks. The exact release time of this season is unknown since the ninth season could be extended for a few weeks, but we can expect it to be released in either late July or early August. Just like every other season of the popular video game, Season 10 will bring some huge changes, and Epic Games has hinted at a graphics upgrade.

Considering that this will be the tenth season of "Fortnite Battle Royale," players are expecting something big to happen. In addition to this, the PvP mode of the video game will celebrate its second birthday during this season as it was released in September 2017.

There are so many reasons for Epic Games to make the next season the greatest one yet, so we are hoping that they will not disappoint us.

Graphics upgrade is coming with Season 10

On June 21, Epic Games has announced that the PC version of "Fortnite Battle Royale" will require a much better graphics card. In order to run the game in Season 10, graphics cards will have to be compatible with Microsoft DirectX 11. This means that there will be a graphics upgrade in the tenth season and that the game performance will be much better.

"While a DirectX 11-capable graphics card has always been one of Fortnite’s system requirements, we’ve kept support online for players with older graphics cards - so they could keep playing!" is what the "Fortnite" developer posted in the official release regarding this topic.

The game creator has also made it clear that older graphics cards will no longer be compatible with the game when Season 10 begins. "This allows us to focus our development and testing efforts to further optimize the Fortnite experience for all players," Epic has added.

This simply means that some players will have to upgrade their hardware to keep playing "Fortnite Battle Royale," and they have a month to do so.

Fortunately, most of the newer cards support DirectX 11, so the majority of players won't have to do any upgrade. Even some graphics card released in 2010, such as the GeForce GTS 450, supports this API.

What does this mean for players?

Many players are speculating that Epic Games will release a brand new map for Season 10 of "Fortnite Battle Royale," and this is certainly a possibility.

The game developer could add a new map while keeping the existing island in the game and allowing players to choose which map to play on.

We can expect a huge improvement in terms of graphics quality as well, and it will be interesting to see how the developer optimizes the game for console and mobile players. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are definitely powerful enough to run games with improved graphics, but mobile devices could struggle with it.
