Epic Games is slowly introducing "Fortnite Battle Royale" players to Season 9 of the popular video game. The volcano, which has been added with the eighth season back in February, is going to be the center of the upcoming in-game event. Once again, it appears that players will be able to witness it live, and it will be interesting to see what the playable island will look like in the next season.

The northeastern area of the island has been completely changed with the release of the current season, and it will most likely remain untouched for the remainder of it. However, data miners have revealed which points of interest will be affected by the volcano eruption, and it will be interesting to see how it will affect the game. One of these areas is Tilted Towers, which is the most popular landing spot in the game. The volcano is starting to erupt, so the destruction of the city could happen very soon.

The volcano event will be big

A few weeks ago, Epic Games has added runes to "Fortnite Battle Royale." These runes have something to do with the vault that is located at the center of Loot Lake, and it is currently unknown if the vault event will be somehow linked to the volcano event.

However, we know the outcome of the volcano eruption, but the exact date of the event has yet to be confirmed by the video game developer.

According to game data leaked by data miners, at least two areas will receive huge changes after the eruption. Beside Tilted Towers, Retail Row will be affected by the eruption as well. In addition to this, Polar Peak, which has started to crack, will also be changed. Considering that Loot Lake has the vault in the center of it, we can expect this area to also receive a big change.

On Wednesday, May 1, the "Fortnite Battle Royale" volcano has been slightly changed. There was a huge smoke coming out of it, and it is currently glowing and pulsing. It is starting to erupt, and the eruption will most likely happen this week.

Epic Games will most likely release the v8.60 patch for the game on Thursday, May 2, and this will be the last patch in Season 8. The weekend is just around the corner, so we can expect the event to happen on either Saturday or Sunday. The majority of big events has happened on weekends, and this one probably won't be an exception.

Post-eruption map

Tilted Towers has been the most popular "Fortnite Battle Royale" area ever since it was released with the v2.00 update. Epic Games will soon destroy it, so it will be interesting to see how this will affect players. Considering that at least 20 players land at the area in every lobby, we can expect landing spots to be much more balanced after the Tilted Towers destruction.
