Epic Games recently released the v9.00 update for "Fortnite Battle Royale," bringing Season 9 of the popular video game to live servers. The update was huge and it has brought several major changes, including gameplay changes and changes made to the in-game island. The video game developer has also made several smaller changes to the game, and these changes mostly affected sound or user interface.

The "Fortnite" creator released a small tweak to the health and shield bars with the latest update, which wasn't received well by the community. After the update was released, players would get a red animation effect when losing either shield or health, which was rather confusing.

Before the Season 9 patch, there were different colors for these two animations and players could tell whether they were losing shield or health. However, the last update changed it, and it will be reverted.

Bars will be changed once again

The "Fortnite Battle Royale" community let Epic Games know that the latest change is not really good. Fortunately, the video game developer acknowledged that this was a mistake, which is why the change will be reverted in the upcoming update. "We are tweaking this. Same color for health and shield is confusing," is what Daniel Vogel, Vice President of Engineering at Epic Games, posted on Reddit.

When the update goes live, players will be able to track damage taken more easily without having to stare at the bars.

While it's currently unknown how Epic Games will tweak these bars, we can expect a simple change that will make losing shield have a blue color, while players will see a red color when losing health.

While this is going to be a small change released with the v9.01 update, it is definitely a significant one. Having the same color for both shield and health is indeed confusing, and the "Fortnite" creator will improve the game by changing bars to have different colors.

More v9.01 changes

The v9.01 patch for "Fortnite Battle Royale" is scheduled to release on May 15 at 4 AM Eastern Time. At the moment, the video game developer announced just a couple of changes that will be released with the patch, including the health/shield bar change. We can also expect Epic Games to release some bug fixes, including the fix for the rendering issue.

Another addition that was announced was the Tactical Assault Rifle. This is the weapon that was added to the game data with the v9.00 update, and it has also appeared in the main loading screen of the current season. "This robust and precise assault rifle is the ideal option for tight quarters," is what the news feed description of this new weapon states.
