"Fortnite Battle Royale" got planes added by Epic Games at the beginning of Season 7. This was one of the biggest additions ever made to the popular game, but unfortunately, many players did not like it. "Fortnite" planes went through numerous changes and they had been nerfed a lot of times, but it still wasn't enough to make the community happy. In the end, the video game developer removed this vehicle from the game with the v8.00 patch.
According to recent leaks by data miners, planes will make their return to "Fortnite Battle Royale." After all, these vehicles have been vaulted, which means that they could be re-released at any point. It appears that this is exactly what Epic Games is planning to do, but fortunately for those who don't like X-4 Stormwing planes, they will be restricted to an optional limited-time game mode.
Planes in the 'Fortnite' video game
The "Fortnite Battle Royale" developer has experimented with a lot of in-game changes. Before Season 4, there were no vehicles in the popular video game, and players had to use mobility items, such as the Launch Pad, to move faster around the island.
Season 4 brought the first vehicle, the shopping cart, which was recently vaulted.
After the shopping cart, the video gaming creator released the All Terrain Kart in Season 5, followed by a Quadcrusher in Season 6. Planes, which were added at the start of Season 7 and were kept in the game for only one season, were arguably the most controversial vehicle in the game. They have been replaced by the Driftboard and the Baller, which are much more balanced.
Before planes, no other vehicle had a mounted weapon. Planes, on the other hand, were incredibly effective for destroying structures, and the mounted turret was capable of dealing massive damage to both structures and players. This is why, even after a lot of nerfs, planes were removed from the game.
The return of the planes
Data miners have recently discovered some interesting items hidden in the game data. With the release of the v8.30 patch, Epic Games added a lot of new files to the game, and some of then hint at the return of "Fortnite Battle Royale" planes. There will be a weekly challenge to destroy planes and there is also a folder named "PlaneLTM" in the game data.
It is important to note that even more files related to planes were found in the game data a few weeks ago. Data miners found the files which indicate that planes will have fuel when they return, which should make them much more balanced. At the moment, it's unknown when exactly planes will come back to "Fortnite Battle Royale," but it won't be surprising if it happens in Season 8.
