Epic Games just released the update v8.11 for "Fortnite: Battle Royale" and the new pistol that was previously teased in the in-game news of "Fortnite" has finally been released. The new pistol added to the game is called "Flint-Knock Pistol" and the official patch notes for the latest update describes it as "Knock, knock...who’s there? Flint-Knock, that’s who! Pick the perfect time and knock yourself or enemies back with this new weapon!"

The Flint-Knock Pistol

This new weapon comes in Common and Uncommon rarities and it is definitely the first of its kind in "Fortnite." As the name of the weapons suggests, the Flint-Knock pistol is able to knock back the shooter and its target if they are close enough.

The knockback effect increases the closer the shooter gets to its target and the shooter can prevent self-knockback effect by crouching,

The weapon has a base damage of 86/90 HP at close range and there's a significant falloff in the damage in case the shooter moves away from the target. Players will have to reload the weapon after each shot and the reload time for the weapon is three seconds. Lastly, the Flint-Knock weapon will use heavy ammo.

As you can see, the weapon has a knockback effect similar to the Impulse Grenade.

Although the damage drop off at the range and huge reload time makes this weapon less impressive, the knockback effect from the weapon can give players an edge during close combats. Players should be careful while using the weapon because the knockback effect from the pistol does not give immunity to fall damage.

Other changes in patch v8.11

Other minor changes made in "Fortnite" with the latest update are:

  • Base damage for the Scoped Assault Rifle has been increased 27/26.
  • The Baller vehicle's spawn rate has been reduced by half.
  • The "One Shot" Limited Time Mode has returned to the game. This game mode will feature the vaulted Semi-Auto Snipers and Bounce Pads.
  • The impulse strength of explosive weapons against vehicles has been increased by almost three times.
  • A new tournament with $100,00 cash prize pool called the "Blackheart Cup" will be held on March 23rd and 24th.
  • The Impulse Grenade has been unvaulted and its strength against vehicles has been increased by 344%.
  • The new style for the Whiteout Outfit can now be selected.
  • The issue where full-screen support was not working with Samsung S10 has been fixed.
