Epic Games is going to release the v7.40 patch for "Fortnite Battle Royale" on Tuesday, February 12. Considering that season 7 ends in around two weeks, this will most likely be the last patch for the game in the season, which is why we expect it to be huge. The video game developer has already revealed some big things that are coming to the game, including a new weapon and some huge balance changes.

It is important to note that, besides new things that will be added to the game, Epic Games will add a lot of new files to the game data. This means that data miners will be able to extract some useful information from them, showing us what will happen by the end of the season.

"Fortnite Battle Royale" players will most likely get a big earthquake, which will be a build-up event for season 8, among other things that will be added with the upcoming patch.

Balance changes

The "Fortnite" development team is going to release some big balance changes to the game with the next patch. These changes involve airplanes, zip lines, building and editing, as well as a few weapon adjustments. Even though the season is almost over, the developer does its best to make the game balanced and fun for everyone.

Planes have been introduced with season 7, yet they have been nerfed a lot of times in the past two months. The next patch will bring another nerf to these vehicles as they will no longer be able to smash through structures.

Considering that this is one thing many players have used planes for, they will no longer be as viable. On the other side, zip lines will grant players fall damage immunity and they will have to be activated through a special interact prompt.

Hand Cannon and Rocket Launcher are going to be nerfed in the next patch. Hand Cannon will have its structure damage reduced to 100 from 150, while the reload time for the RPG will be increased from 2.52 to 3.24 seconds.

In addition, players will no longer be able to acquire Rocket Launchers from chests and vending machines, but they will be available from supply drops.

Building, editing, and new weapon

The turbo build delay will be decreased from 0.15 to 0.05 seconds in the next update. Additionally, players will be able to switch from crouching and standing while in the editing mode. Epic Games will also release a new weapon to "Fortnite Battle Royale," the Infantry Rifle. This will most likely be a no-scoped version of a semi-automatic sniper rifle.
