Epic Games has carried out a huge map makeover for "Fortnite Battle Royale" during season 7. Players first got a snow biome, which is something that had never happened before, then the entire map was covered by snow during a special event. Unfortunately, this snow-covered map was in the game for only one day. After that, the game developer reverted the island to its original season 7 state, making the southwestern part of it the only snowy area.

There is no doubt that the current season is going to bring even more changes to the game.

The season itself has been huge, so far, as Epic Games added many new game-changing items during it, such as airplanes and ziplines. However, there will be more changes in the following weeks, and some of them will be about the map. Some "Fortnite Battle Royale" players have noticed the snow falling once again, which means there is a good chance that we will get the snow-covered map one more time.

Upcoming map changes

Besides the map makeover that happened during the "14 Days of Fortnite" event, players have witnessed some other island changes.

The biggest change happened during the v7.01 patch when Epic Games added the Infinity Blade to the game. The blade was located at Polar Peak, the area which was incredibly popular during the patch. This update has brought a huge change to Polar Peak as the snow in this area has drastically melted, revealing new structures and places players were able to access.

Even though the blade has been vaulted, it appears that the "Fortnite" developer still has some huge plans with this area. Players have found dragon eggs by the castle in Polar Peak, and we can expect dragons to be added in the next season.

There is no doubt that the snow is going to keep melting in the following weeks, and that players will see more hidden places on the island.

Reddit user Jheme has recorded a video which shows that snow is falling on the "Fortnite Battle Royale" island once again. The redditor record his in-game footage at the racetrack, which is located in the desert biome. However, if Epic Games decides to bring the snow back again, the entire map will be covered by it, including desert.

Snow and dragons

There is a theory that dragons could come to "Fortnite Battle Royale" during the Chinese New Year in February.

Considering that this is going to be a huge change, we can expect Epic Games to cover the island with the snow shortly before that. The season 8 theme could be ice versus fire, but we will have to wait at least a month to see what is going to happen.
