Epic Games have made numerous changes to "Fortnite Battle Royale" since the video game was released in September 2017. The game developer has tried to keep the game fresh and updated with new content but has also released many balance changes. A few months ago, the double pumping technique was removed from the game. This technique allowed players to deal massive damage with multiple pump shotguns, but Epic Games considered it overpowered.

Ever since it was removed, many "Fortnite Battle Royale" players have wanted Epic Games to bring the double pumping back.

"Fortnite" streamer Daequan made this technique very popular among players, which is why so many players have started using it. However, it appears that the video game developer won't bring it back anytime soon.

Epic Games developer talks about double pump

Sean Hamilton of Epic Games has recently revealed that there are no plans to bring the double pump back to "Fortnite Battle Royale." The community coordinator has responded to one of his followers who asked for the return of the double pump. However, it turns out that the video game developer won't add this technique back to the game anytime soon.

At the moment, carrying two pump shotguns is pointless since there is a delay that occurs after switching from one shotgun to another.

Because of this delay, players cannot fire another shotgun for a short period of time, which makes the double pump technique useless. However, before the technique was removed, players were able to fire multiple shotguns in a rapid succession. By doing this, pump shotgun had an insane fire rate. Additionally, the maximum damage for a pump shotgun was 238, which is something that made double pumping even more effective.

Right now, pump shotgun has a maximum damage of 170. However, double pump players can choose to use a double barrel shotgun as this weapon is the closest thing to the double pump.

The double barrel shotgun deals massive damage from a close range and it allows players to fire off two shots very quickly.

Other effective techniques

While using two or more pump shotguns doesn't make sense anymore, "Fortnite Battle Royale" players have found other weapon combos that can deal a massive damage. One of these combos includes a pump shotgun and a hand cannon. Since there is no switch delay between these two weapons, players can use them to quickly take down their opponents without giving them much time to defend themselves.
